Marvel has confirmed the title of its official Avengers videogame, Marvel’s Avengers. The news comes via a tweet from the official Avengers account, which offers little else, save the promise of a worldwide reveal during Square Enix’s E3 showcase on June 10.
While there’s no information on a release window or what systems that game will be playable on, we do know that the game is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. They’re an interesting pair for the game—Crystal Dynamics are the minds behind the recent, rather underwhelming Tomb Raider games, while Eidos Montreal helmed the Deus Ex reboot. Both are character action games, though neither have the type of kinetic action sequences that we’ve come to expect from the Marvel movies.
Interesting, too, is the hashtag that reads, “Reassemble,” suggesting that the game likely won’t be a rehash of the massive film franchise’s events, but rather a newly constructed story altogether.
Check out the tweet below, revisit the game’s original announcement video further down and stay tuned for more information when E3 rolls around in just a few weeks. While you’re here, you might as well check out what we thought of the latest Avengers movie here.
