Check Out the First Call of Duty: WWII Trailer, First Multiplayer and Zombies Details

It’s that time of year again, folks. Activision and Sledgehammer Games have officially unveiled Call of Duty: WWII with a new trailer, as well as a host of other tiny details.

The trailer above shows off an expectedly by-the-numbers, melodramatic WWII campaign that at least benefits from the last 10 years of graphical improvement. Players will step into the boots of Private Ronald “Red” Daniels as he joins the First Infantry Division in the U.S. Army, also known as the “Fighting First.” Taking place exclusively in the European theater, the story will follow Daniels and his fellow soldiers during 1944 and 1945 as they make the final push towards Germany.

Sledgehammer is holding off on a full multiplayer reveal until June’s E3, but they gave a brief glimpse at a new multiplayer social hub called Headquarters where players can “rally and interact” with each other (not unlike The Tower in Destiny). They also described two new multiplayer modes: “War,” an asymmetrical, narrative-driven game type, and “Divisions,” a “new approach to Create-a-Class and character customization” that lets you enlist in a specific division and “progress through the ranks.”

Finally a new co-op Nazi Zombies campaign was teased with the following image of said type of decrepit soldier:

For every other detail given out today (few were substantial, but there were many of them), you can check out the archived Twitch livestream here, and be sure to take a look at the trailer up top if you haven’t already.
