David Jaffe’s Studio Lays Off “Vast Majority” of Staff

David Jaffe announced yesterday that he was “forced to lay off the vast majority” of staff at his studio, The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency. The majority of the employees let go worked in the games division of the studio.

The man who made his name working on the Twisted Metal and God of War franchises took to Twitter to express his condolences to now former staff members, stating his “heart’s breaking for the amazingly talented crew that’s out of work”.

The downsizing is the result of the cancellation of an unannounced title that was to follow the critically-underwhelming arena shooter Drawn to Death. Little is known about what the studio was working on, or what those left have on their plate with the games division all but shuttered.

Jaffe promises more news in his announcement, so we undoubtedly haven’t heard the last about the studio’s future.
