E3: Ubisoft Reveals Beyond Good and Evil 2, Mario + Rabbids and Much More

Ubisoft’s E3 press conference was fairly brief, but they did an excellent job of not dwelling too much on games we already know a ton about. The reveal of Beyond Good and Evil 2 overshadowed almost everything else they showed. Let’s get to recapping.

Beyond Good and Evil 2

The biggest reveal of the show, Beyond Good and Evil 2’s trailer is sure to please fans who’ve been waiting nearly fifteen years for a sequel to the 2003 game. Technically, the new game is a prequel—and still has no release date yet—but we’re much closer than we’ve been at any other time over the last decade and a half, and that alone is cause to be excited.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

This would have been a fun pitch to sit in on. Everybody likes Mario and Rabbids and XCOM, right? Why not throw all that mess together? Boom. Videogame magic. The strange hybrid releases for the Switch on Aug 29.

The Crew 2

It has cars and racing and even planes and bikes. Pretty slick stuff. We should be able to race things early next year.

Transference

Elijah Wood has come a long way since saving Middle Earth from Sauron. He’s played with a man-dog in Wilfred, accidentally murdered people in I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore and he now wants to expand into the virtual reality space. We don’t know much about the new game other than that it’s supposed to be deeply-unsettling, but if Wood is behind it, it’s almost guaranteed to be weird.

Skull & Bones

It’s Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag if you never had to get off the ship. It looks like there will be quite a bit of pirate shooting in this PvP game.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas

This game will task players with combining their controller with various robot toys. Maybe that could be fun.

Far Cry 5

The new gameplay trailer spends a lot of time on your trusty dog sidekick, Boomer. Mark our words, if Boomer dies at some point in the game, we’ll never be able to love anything ever again.
