Epic Games Opens Up Early Access to MOBA Paragon

Games News

Early access to Epic Games’ newest multiplayer online battle arena property Paragon begins today for Playstation 4 and PC users, the company announced on its gaming blog.

Using a third-person perspective, Paragon takes you through the stunning and limitless world of Agora (courtesy of Epic’s Unreal Engine 4) as you and your allies fight for control in a range of arenas, including 5v5, three lanes, jungles, towers and more.

The new MOBA, which provides a unique and growing roster of heroes, uses a customization system that rewards you for how much you play—not how much you spend. It will be completely free-to-play this summer in Open Beta, but for fans interested in building their heroes and gameplay prowess now, they can purchase the Founder’s Pack for $19.99 to get in during the early access period.

This primer will help you get battle ready quicker and any progress you make in early access is permanent so you don’t have to worry about losing your in-game items, customizations or upgrades. New heroes are already scheduled for release in the next couple of weeks, along with more active cards.

Granting early access to their games is a relatively new thing at Epic, but according to the Creative Director of Paragon Steve Superville, it’s “a real commitment to listen and refine the core game of Paragon alongside early players.”

“You’ll notice our rough edges, but we’re building and improving at a rapid pace,” Superville said. “Everyone on the Paragon team is looking forward to watching the game grow with our players.”
