New gameplay footage from Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake, the first since Sony first announced plans for the game at 2015’s E3, is here.
The new trailer for the crisp PS4 remake from the main staff behind the original PlayStation version flexes a high-definition look at Cloud, Aerith and (*gasp*) Sephiroth.
A blog post from FFVII producer Yoshinori Kitase following the trailer’s reveal at Sony’s first State of Play address begins, “Finally … The long-awaited moment has come. Sorry to keep you all waiting so long!”
And since Square Enix’s focus is no longer hyper-fixed on Kingdom Hearts III, we’ll get that next big update come June.
FFVII director Tetsuya Nomura used the franchise’s official Twitter account to clarify, “Most of the plans are already in place in the run up to launch, so please bear with us a little longer until we can release more information next month.”
Until then, check out the new trailer below.
