Frog Fractions 2 Has Finally Been Found

Games News Frog Fractions 2

The first Frog Fractions is a bizarre meta-joke that constantly disorients the player and sidesteps expectations. The game’s sequel, which got a Kickstarter campaign in March of 2014, took the unpredictable nature of its predecessor and raised it up a notch. Developer Jim Crawford announced during the Kickstarter that the sequel wouldn’t be called Frog Fractions 2 and wouldn’t resemble the original game. That, combined with not one, but two ARGs, led to eager fans scouring the internet asking the same question over and over, sometimes jokingly and sometimes seriously, “Is this Frog Fractions 2?”

It’s now been confirmed that Glittermitten Grove is Frog Fractions 2. Released on Steam on Dec. 13, Glittermitten Grove is a full game, made by Crawford but released under a pseudonym, where you “Sow the fields with magic seeds, pick berries from the plentiful boughs of our sugar fern trees, and collect sparkles from the resplendent rays of our sun-kissed thicket to help us prepare for the long winter ahead.” But if you acquire fireworks and dig downwards (in a nod to the original game), then you’ll find a door that leads to Frog Fractions 2.

Naturally, there’s a lot to figure out about Frog Fractions 2, and already some interesting things have been discovered. For example, the game offers the option to import your Mass Effect 2 saves, apparently causing the game to address you by the name of your Commander Shepard.

You can buy Glittermitten Grove now on Steam for $19.99.
