Super Robot Brawler H.E.L.M.E.T. Force: Rise of the Machines Announced

What’s the best way to engage in fisticuffs? Why, with robots of course. Well, that’s at least how developer Forge Studios feels. The studio announced Friday that its 2D action brawler H.E.L.M.E.T. Force: Rise of the Machines is coming to the Xbox One via ID@Xbox, with a planned release for other platforms later this year.

Forge Studios provided the following story details for their debut game:

With a surprise assault Baroness MadHead’s troops have destroyed the Headquarters of HELMET Force and she can finally aim to take over the world with her relentless army of mechanical minions!

Major B.Campbell and his companion AI Venus are the only HELMET operatives left and they will have to infiltrate the scary MadHead’s Fortress of Doom to save their teammates and restore peace to the world!

Many dangers await our heroes with the undergrounds, towers, factories and laboratories filled with traps and all sorts of dangerous machinery. The Baroness will unload hundreds, thousands of minions and menacing bosses to stop our heroes.

Will our heroes manage to defeat the evil Baroness and stop her plan for world domination?

H.E.L.M.E.T. Force: Rise of the Machines sees players use their fist to bash and pummel their way through an army of robots. As with any Metroidvania, players will gain power-ups to help them take on all sorts of threats. The game looks like it will challenge players’ ability to think quickly, as they will have to test their many abilities against a variety of enemies, as well as navigate a world filled with hazards and obstacles.

Forge Studios will debut a first look at H.E.L.M.E.T. Force when they showcase the game at Gamescom 2018. Meanwhile, you can watch Major Campbell engage in some good old-fashioned boxing in the announcement trailer for the game below.
