To celebrate N7 Day, BioWare has released a brand-new trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda. There’s plenty of new footage from the game, but it’s still light on specific details.
It looks like there’s some disaster that happens when residents of the Milky Way arrive in the Andromeda Galaxy. Ryder, the player character, is named the Pathfinder, which is presumably the initial scout for finding a place to call home.
We also get a couple of glimpses at what is likely the main villain of the game. It seems like he has plans with some mysterious, ancient power which is rather Saren/Reaper-esque. He also seems to take an interest in Ryder, saying, “Now I know what makes you special.”
The line, “We’re the aliens,” hints at the story potential of having the player in the role of invader. Unfortunately, besides some hints and teases, there aren’t any big reveals or announcements in the trailer.
In other N7 Day news, the voice actors for the Ryder siblings have been announced. Fryda Wolff and Tom Taylorson will be providing the voices. Wolff has been in quite a few games before this and both appeared in 2014’s Octodad but this is the first major, starring role for both actors.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is aiming for a spring 2017 release. You can watch the reveal trailer embedded above.
