The Nintendo Switch Has Reached 10 Million in Sales

The Nintendo Switch, or How Nintendo Got Its Groove Back, is now in the hands of about 10 million people worldwide. The videogame company announced the sales figure today in a press release, and with the holiday season rapidly approaching, expect that number to rise at a crazy rate.

The sales figure comes from Nintendo’s own estimates, and inches near the 13 million lifetime sales of the company’s Wii U misfire. As we reported previously, Nintendo raised their projection for their first year from 10 million to 14 million, so we can expect the numbers to reach that higher milestone very soon.

Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime said in a statement:

As you can see in people’s living rooms, on a plane or riding the subway, fans all over the world can enjoy playing Nintendo Switch wherever they go. The response from fans has been great, and we’re doing our very best to satisfy demand during the holiday shopping season.
