Oculus Rift Gets Permanent Price Drop to $399

Virtual reality headsets are slowly but surely infiltrating the mainstream. Oculus is making a move to expand their audience by cutting the price of the Rift headset to $399, as they announced on their blog today.

The Rift and its Touch controllers were available for $399 for a limited time back in July, but now the change is permanent. The bundle comes with Touch controllers, sensors and “six free apps,” includingEpic’s arcade shooter Robo Recall. The bundle also includes creative tools from Oculus called Medium and Quill.

This is certainly good news for consumers—now the next step is to make people not look totally lame while wearing the headset. Check out the video that accompanied Oculus’ announcement below.
