PETA Releases Parody of Pokémon GO

Games News

In case you haven’t had your fill of Pokémon GO, PETA has created a parody version of the game called Pokemon Black & Blue: Gotta Free ‘Em All!

In the new game, PETA seeks to “free Pikachu and his friends as they struggle for Pokemon liberation.”

Users can play as Pokemon battling cruel trainers. Moves include Quick Attack and Thunder Shock but also the more adorable “attacks” like Group Hug and Protest. The trainers, on the other hand, use more brutal yet realistic attacks called Discipline and Choke Collar.

The animal-rights organization likens Pokemon to caged elephants forced to perform in circuses.

“But the difference between real life and this fictional world full of organized animal fighting is that Pokémon games paint rosy pictures of things that are actually horrible,” PETA’s description reads.

This parody is the latest in a slew of other PETA games, including Super Tofu Boy and Pokemon vs. McDonalds.
