Pillars of Eternity II Funded in Less Than a Day

Only 23 hours after its Fig crowdfunding campaign launched, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has been funded, having surpassed its $1.1 million goal.

Via a press release, Obsidian Entertainment immediately thanked fans for their help in funding the game:

We have the best fans in the world. It is amazing how quickly they helped us reach the funding goal for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. Our fans were responsible for the original game’s critical and financial success, and we are looking forward to doing it all over again with them for the sequel. For those who reserved Fig Games Shares, thank you for your trust in us and we look forward to having you share in the potential success of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire together.

Obsidian’s first Pillars game was also crowdfunded via Kickstarter back in 2012. For more on the sequel’s recently announced Fig campaign, take a look at our post from yesterday. As of this writing, the game has been funded by well over 10,000 backers and still has more than 28 days to receive further funding.
