Pokémon GO Players Have Walked Around The Earth 200,000 Times

Pokémon GO wants its players to get active and, based on these numbers, it has succeeded. According to a blog post from developers Niantic Labs, GO players have collectively walked 8.7 billion kilometers, or roughly 5.4 million miles, since the game launched in July . That’s equivalent to walking around the Earth 200,000 times, or walking all the way to Pluto and then walking a couple billion kilometers farther. In all that walking, players have caught 88 billion Pokémon, averaging out to about 533 million Pokémon per day. Watch the video below to see a visualization of just how far Pokémon GO players have gone to catch them all.
