Rick and Morty VR Game Launching Next Week

Prepare to get schwifty, scream “wubba lubba dub dub” or just generally bend your head over and raise your posterior, VR adopters, because Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality is finally coming to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift on April 20.

From Adult Swim games and Owlchemy Labs, Virtual Rick-ality lets you experience life as a traumatized, mute Morty clone as you explore Rick’s garage, the Smith family home and alternate worlds via Rick’s portal gun. In full, room-scale VR, you’ll be tasked with following Rick’s extremely dangerous and careless directions to solve environmental puzzles. The game will let you “probe, prod, throw and smash iconic items like the Plumbus,” “teleport around rooms to find hidden objects” and experience the first-hand joy of opening real fake doors.

Alex Schwartz, Owlchemy Labs’ CEO, had this to say about the game in an Adult Swim press release:

We really believe fans are going to lose their minds at what we’ve developed. It’s been an incredible experience to develop for one of our favorite shows and see the joy on players’ faces when they get to explore Rick’s garage in VR, physically step through portals, and interact naturally with their hands in the world they’re already so familiar with. Players are interacting with the world of Rick and Morty in a way only possible in virtual reality, and they love it!

Available next Thursday, Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality can be found on Steam and Oculus Home for $29.99. Go ahead and check out last year’s announcement trailer below to get a sense of the game’s look and feel.
