AMC Is Taking On Late Night With Kevin Smith & Greg Grunberg

Geek News Kevin Smith

Get ready to do late-night through the fanboy lens. AMC has announced it’s ordering a 30-minute, weekly show from the ultimate geek Kevin Smith and Heroes alum Greg Grunberg.

The talk show’s working title is Geeking Out, and will feature talk, clips, celebrity interviews and out-of-the-studio segments about the latest pop culture happenings. The first episode is slated to premiere in late July as a San Diego Comic-Con special, followed by eight more episodes that will run starting in late summer.

Smith is currently a featured player on AMC’s Comic Book Men, while Grunberg is just coming off a role in the newest Star Wars installment.

“Kevin and Greg are both true fans of this content and share a deep passion for talking about it and engaging other fans about it,” Joel Stillerman, President of Original Programming and Development for AMC and SundanceTV, said in a statement.

Grunberg had a more comedic take on the announcement, stating, “I get all my work from my friends. Now it’s time for me to take advantage of those relationships even more. I am going to get every single genre-based writer, director and actor I know to come on our show and geek out with us.”

Geeking Out is produced by Matador Content and The Weinstein Company in association with Bandwagon Media. Jay Peterson, Patrick Reardon, Smith and Grunberg serve as executive producers.
