Moff Smartband Helps Fuel Imaginations by Adding Sound Effects to Ordinary Objects

Geek Features

Toys keep us cheerful. For children, little else is important. While the imagination can make many ordinary things more interesting, here’s a gadget that helps.

Moff is a smartband that’s being funded via a Kickstarter campaign. It turns everything into a toy by relaying the appropriate sounds to any object. It connects wirelessly via an app and senses your movements then analyzes and responds accordingly, thereby giving different experiences as well as different sounds.

For example, by picking up a simple stick, Moff can turn it into a toy sword by producing the appropriate sound effects. The tennis sound effect offers the familiar ‘thwack’ of a tennis ball hitting the racket. It all adds to the fun experience already offered by one’s imagination.

The Moff smart band connects to an iOS device via Bluetooth and is safe thanks to its silicon covering. It’s a slap band, so it’ll fit any wrist. It has a battery life of 30 hours.

Moff looks like a pretty fun project to back. It has passed it’s $20,000 goal, but pledges can still be donated until April 10. The Early Bird packages are all gone, but there’s still time to pledge $49 to snag one. You can buy two for $88.
