Aaron Sorkin to Make Directorial Debut with Hollywood Poker Ring Film

Aaron Sorkin, he of the overwrought dialogue, will make his directorial debut with Molly’s Game. The Wrap reports that Sorkin will write and direct the adaptation of Molly Bloom’s memoir of the same name which follows her ascension as the leader of a high-stakes poker ring in Hollywood. Bloom, a former professional skier was waiting tables in LA when she started running poker games for Hollywood heavyweights like Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire, before the FBI shut it down. Sorkin first signed on to adapt the film back in 2014 when the memoir was first optioned by Steve Jobs producer Mark Gordon.
