Watch the Pulse-Pounding First Six Minutes of Baby Driver

Edgar Wright’s critically acclaimed Baby Driver is essentially a car chase musical. The soundtrack is just as important to the film as the physics-defying vehicle stunts. But beneath all that glitzy style, the film boasts a surprising amount of charm and heart. Wright deftly manages all of these elements, often simultaneously.

Few scenes in the film show off Baby Driver’s myriad merits than its opening sequence. In an effort to further promote their film, Sony has posted its first six minutes to YouTube. The clip has everything that makes the full movie great. The song—The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion’s “Bellbottoms”—has the perfect balance of kickass riffage and upbeat sensibility to lay the foundation for both the titular Baby’s goofy lip-sync dancing, as well as his mind-boggling driving skills. The scene is hand-crafted for maximum enjoyment.
