Colin Farrell May Play Clint Eastwood’s Character in Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled Remake

Movies News Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell is in talks to fill the shoes of Clint Eastwood for Sofia Coppola’s remake of The Beguiled, according to Variety.

If Farrell clinches the role, he will play a wounded Yankee soldier seeking safe haven in a Southern all-girls boarding school during the Civil War, where he cons his way into the women’s hearts.

Farrell would be joined by Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst and Elle Fanning, who have all already signed on to the project, which Coppola is writing and directing. This will be the first time Farrell and Kidman work with the Academy Award-winning filmmaker.

Farrell is undergoing his own renaissance at the moment—think the McConaissance, but with an Irish accent. He recently starred in the brilliant dark comedy, The Lobster, which we ranked #2 among the best movies of 2016 so far, and will appear in Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them later this year.
