The Costume Designers Guild Awards Announce Winners

A dashing Hollywood Tuesday: On Jan. 28, The 22nd Costume Designers Guild Awards, hosted by Mindy Kaling, announced the winners in categories such as Excellence in Contemporary Film, Period Film, Short Form Design and Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film. With a myriad of presenters including Adam Scott, John Lithgow, Julia Butters, Tan France and Lorene Scafaria, the awards celebrated achievement in costume design, and the crucial role that designers play in creating the world of a film or television series.

Jenny Eagan took home the top prize for Contemporary Film for Knives Out, and Mayes C. Rubeo won for Period Film for for Jojo Rabbit. Debra Hanson was awarded for Contemporary Television for Schitt’s Creek, while Michele Clapton won for Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television for Game of Thrones.

The CDGA honored Charlize Theron (Bombshell, Tully) with the Spotlight Award, Michael Kaplan (Blade Runner, Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker) for Career Achievement, Adam McKay (The Big Short, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy) for Distinguished Collaborator and Mary Ellen Fields (Black Panther) with Distinguished Service.
