According to reports, Harris was performing a stunt for Zazie Beetz’s character; Domino when something went wrong and she crashed into a plate-glass window after being thrown from the bike. A source told Deadline that because the character Harris was performing the stunt for does not wear a helmet in the scene, she was not wearing one, either.

Ryan Reynolds, the star of the Deadpool films, expressed his grief in a statement, saying he and the crew are “heartbroken” and “devastated” by the loss. You’ll find Reynolds’ full statement below.

The incident is still under investigation, and production on the film was immediately halted—at this time, it’s unclear when shooting will resume. Deadpool 2 was Harris’ first time performing stunts for a film.
