Bruce Willis stars in director Eli Roth’s reimagining of the 1974 revenge tale Death Wish. The film’s all-new trailer features Willis as Dr. Paul Kersey, who only witnesses the cruel violence of Chicago from his emergency room at the hospital. One night, his wife and daughter are the victims of a brutal attack at their seemingly safe suburban home. From that moment on, it’s Willis against the world, as he becomes a rogue vigilante in search of his family’s assailants to avenge them.
Director Roth and screenwriter Joe Carnahan (The Grey) bring an updated approach to the original 1974 story by infusing it with new thrills—the film’s official synopsis describes it as “a stark, unflinching look at the American psyche in 2017.” The film also stars Vincent D’Onofrio (The Magnificent Seven, TV’s Daredevil), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad) and Academy Award nominee Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas).
MGM pushed the release of Death Wish from Nov. 22, 2017 back to March 2, 2018, where it will open against the Jennifer Lawrence thriller Red Sparrow from 20th Century Fox. Watch the film’s new trailer above, and revisit a previous one here.
