Jim Parsons, Haley Joel Osment, More Join Ted Bundy Thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile

The newest leading addition to the Ted Bundy thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile is Golden Globe and four-time Emmy winner Jim Parsons. The veteran comedic actor will play Larry Simpson, the lead prosecutor from the serial killer’s very public and televised murder trial in 1979.

Most known for his award-winning role as Sheldon in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory, Parsons has also appeared in the Oscar-nominated Hidden Figures opposite Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer, and the Emmy-winning HBO film The Normal Heart opposite Mark Ruffalo and Matt Bomer. Parsons is heading to Broadway this year as well, as he will be seen in the forthcoming revival of The Boys in the Band.

A whole slew of new cast additions have been made in addition to Parsons, including Oscar nominee Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), Angela Sarafyan (Westworld) and Kaya Scodelario (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales). EW reports that Scodelario will play Bundy’s ex-wife, Carol Ann Boone, who was in a relationship with him during the trial.

Burn Notice’s Jeffrey Donovan will play Bundy’s defense attorney, John O’Connell, and Billions’ Terry Kinney will play Detective Mike Fisher. The story mainly follows Bundy’s entire life and how a seemingly insignificant traffic stop lead to the unveiling of Bundy’s brutal crimes and his eventual execution in 1989.

Oscar nominee John Malkovich and Lily Collins joined the cast earlier this month. The film will be viewed through Collins’ Elizabeth Kloepfer’s perspective. She helped the authorities convict Bundy and was Bundy’s girlfriend during the period in which most of his murders occurred. Malkovich will play Judge Edward Cowart, who issued Bundy’s death sentence.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile just began shooting in Kentucky and several cast members have revealed some cool Instagram posts from the set. Check out the extremely wicked posts below.
