Cynthia Erivo Showcases Her Vocals on Original Song for Harriet

“Stand Up” is an original song written by Joshuah Brian Campbell and Cynthia Erivo for the forthcoming film adaptation of Harriet Tubman’s life, Harriet.

Erivo, who plays the titular freedom fighter, shows off her Grammy-winning vocals on the powerful track, the lyrics of which directly align with footage from the film, as one can see in the lyric video.

Harriet is directed by Kasi Lemmons, who co-wrote the script with Gregory Allen Howard (Remember the Titans). Producers include Howard, Debra Martin Chase and Daniela Taplin Lundberg.

A likely Best Original Song contender at the 2020 Academy Awards, “Stand Up” is available on all digital platforms now.
