The Chilling Full Trailer for IT has Arrived

After months of anticipation after the surprisingly terrifying teaser was first released, we finally have a full trailer for the remake of Stephen King’s IT from director Andrés Muschietti.

The first full trailer gives us a better look at the kids in the Loser’s Club, along with some of their antagonists, such as the gang of bullies led by Henry Bowers, who is also used as an agent of IT. Pennywise the clown of course appears prominently throughout in a series of what can best be described as jump scares—it does make one wonder whether Bill Skarsgard’s fright-focused take on Pennywise will retain any of the smirking glee or weird jokes that Tim Curry brought to the character. He does speak briefly, which is the first time we’ve gotten a brief peek at the voice he’s using for the character.

Regardless, this version of IT seems primarily focused on scaring its audience more than anything else, and that seems like a fine goal to us. Here’s hoping that the film can keep up its momentum and that the first installment performs well enough to retain our attention for the second, adult portion when the Losers Club returns to Derry some 30 years later.
