Liam Neeson, Kate Walsh to Star in The Honest Thief, Thriller from Ozark Co-Creator

Liam Neeson and Kate Walsh will star in the forthcoming independent action-thriller The Honest Thief.

Mark Williams, co-creator of the popular Netflix series Ozark, will direct from a script by Steve Allrich. Neeson plays a lovestruck bank robber who tries to turn himself in because he’s fallen for a woman, portrayed by Walsh, who works at the storage facility where he stashes $7 million worth of contraband. The case is turned over to a corrupt FBI agent, and the confession quickly turns complicated.

Deadline reports that Jai Courtney is being considered to play the crooked agent, and that Jeffrey Donovan and Jeffrey Wright might also score roles in the film.

Neeson’s next appearances include Widows, directed by Steve McQueen, and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, from the Coen brothers. He starred earlier this year in the quietly acclaimed action-thriller The Commuter, which grossed $120 million at the worldwide box office.

Neeson was also recently recognized by a horse who “knew” him from another Western the pair had worked on together some years back. The horse’s impeccable memory may be due in part to the fact that the Taken lead “fed him treats” and “gave him apples.”

Walsh stars in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, and portrayed Dr. Addison Montgomery in Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.
