Netflix Debuts Dueling Trailers for Amanda Knox Documentary

The story of Amanda Knox is almost ten years old now, and a great deal of ambiguity still exists about whether she is guilty of the crime she was initially accused of in 2007. Netflix’s new documentary Amanda Knox deals with the ambiguity of the case, and the confusion surrounding Knox herself.

In two new trailers for the documentary, Netflix gives us both sides of the argument. In the first, titled “Believe Her,” Knox is painted as a confused victim, someone who suffered tremendously for a crime she didn’t commit. In the second, titled “Suspect Her,” she comes across as a cold figure who may have committed a heinous crime.

Knox was initially accused of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher in 2007 while they were in Italy. Knox was tried and acquitted of the crime twice, and spent years in prison as she dealt with both trials.

Amanda Knox will only be the latest in a wave of true-crime documentaries, following in the footsteps of Making a Murderer and O.J.: Made in America. The documentary premieres on Netflix on Sept. 30. Until then, check out “Believe Her” above and “Suspect Her” below.
