Watch the Harrowing Trailer for Netflix Documentary Audrie & Daisy

The forthcoming Netflix documentary Audrie & Daisy examines the profound negative effects that result when two underage young women find that sexual crimes against them have been recorded on video. From filmmakers Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk, the film made its world premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.

The chilling real-life drama takes a poignant perspective on America’s teenagers, who are growing up in a world of social media harassment, and the challenges they face as a result of it. By telling these girls’ stories, and those of their families and friends, Audrie & Daisy brings into focus issues of truth, privilege, power, and consent. Facing a flawed legal system that fails to prosecute these cases, the film delves into the search for justice and the struggles of victimization contrasted against obstinate social media and local community forces who refuse believe that such a crime can happen in their own towns.

Audrie & Daisy is out on Netflix and in theaters on Sept. 23. Watch the harrowing first trailer above, and find the film’s key art below.
