Each month, it seems like Netflix inches ever closer to complete streaming domination, and judging by what’s slated to start rolling out next week, March will be no exception to that trend.
Top-billed is Marvel’s Finn Jones-starring (Game of Thrones) Iron Fist series, which will round out the four main superhero origin stories leading up to The Defenders later this year (you can read more about Iron Fist here). Also among the high-profile premieres is The Discovery, an original Netflix film centering around a love story set in the wake of the afterlife’s scientifically proven … well, discovery. Burning Sands tells the story of a frat pledgee dealing with the increasing violence of hazing, while Deidra and Laney Rob a Train focuses on two sisters who begin stealing from said locomotives to support their family.
The streaming service simultaneously boasts a host of returning original content in the forms of Grace and Frankie’s third season, Love’s second season and season 11 of Trailer Park Boys. Netflix also maintains their commitment to bringing new stand-up to its audience with new exclusive specials from Amy Schumer, Jim Norton, Felipe Neto and Jo Koy. The newest seasons of licensed shows like Better Call Saul and Archer will also be streamable toward the end of the month.
Netflix’s deal with Disney continues to pay off for fans of the mouse house, as both The BFG and the remake of Pete’s Dragon (both from mid-to-late 2016) become available for subscribers in the middle of the month. These family films follow others like Finding Dory, Zootopia and The Jungle Book that have also hit the platform in recent months.
While the list of what’s leaving the service is much shorter than the list of arrivals (and, frankly, less notable), there are still classics like Steven Spielberg’s Jaws and John Landis’ Animal House disappearing on the first of the month.
