Chris Pine Saves Scotland in New Trailer for Netflix’s Outlaw King

Chris Pine stars as Robert the Bruce in the new trailer for Netflix film Outlaw King, which reunites him with Hell or High Water director David Mackenzie.

Filmed on location in Scotland, Outlaw King follows the legendary King of Scots, who, after being made an outlaw, regained control of the country during its oppressive occupation under Edward I of England in the 13th century. Robert seizes the Scottish crown and leads the Scots to victory against the mighty army of the King and his volatile son, the Prince of Wales.

Along with Pine, Outlaw King also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Florence Pugh, Billy Howle, Tony Curran, Stephen Dillane, James Cosmo and Sam Spruell.

The successor as Guardian of Scotland to William Wallace, who was played by Mel Gibson in the war epic Braveheart, Robert the Bruce gets a bigger showcase in Outlaw King, which won’t quite have the runtime of Braveheart, but the new trailer still sports some impressive production value and medieval battle sequences.

The first trailer for Outlaw King set up more backstory for the warrior King of Scotland, but this new trailer may be more of a draw for fans who want a tease of the film’s big-budget action sequences.

Outlaw King arrives on Netflix and in select theaters Nov. 9. Watch the new trailer below, and check out some new key art further down.
