Paranormal Activity—i.e., that horror flick that made you terrified of night-vision footage and slowly closing doors—is getting another sequel via Paramount and horror producer extraordinaire Jason Blum, per Deadline. The unnamed film will be the seventh (!) in the $900-million franchise and a direct sequel to 2015’s Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension. Details are minimal as of yet. One can be sure long takes and an overwhelming sense of impending doom will feature.
In other scary news, production is now under way on the sequel to the John Krasinski-directed A Quiet Place, scheduled for release March 30, 2020. Krasinski is again writing and directing the sequel to the 2018 hit, and Emily Blunt will be back after becoming something of a horror icon herself. What, you haven’t seen Mary Poppins Returns? That kept us up for weeks.
