Spider-Man: Homecoming Nabs Doctor Strange, Rogue One Composer

Movies News Spider-Man: Homecoming

Michael Giacchino, the musical mind behind everything from Up to Doctor Strange, is in line to write the score for Spider-Man: Homecoming. The news was confirmed by Giacchino on Twitter over the weekend, and it’s just the latest on a long list of promising developments for the film.

Kevin Feige accidentally let this news slip at a recent Q&A, but it doesn’t come as an enormous surprise. Giacchino’s work has been a staple at Disney of late, with the composer also working on the score for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The score for that film looks like it will be reworking many of the original Star Wars themes, at least based on the trailers.

Giacchino has won plenty of awards for his work in composition, and now he’s likely cashing some significant paychecks, as well. He might not be John Williams, but he’s probably the next best thing.
