Jon Hamm Joins the Cast of Tag Because Nothing Makes Sense Anymore

So there’s this movie coming out called Tag. Lest you think this film is about some classified military operation in Syria or an origin story for the go-to body spray for douchey frat bros, you should know it’s literally just about a game of tag. But this ain’t your grandma’s tag. Oh no, this game is no longer limited to the playground but to the entire country.

Based on a real-life story as detailed in a Wall Street Journal story during a particularly slow news week, the film will follow a bunch of high school friends that still play tag to this day. As in, 30 years later, these guys still go to elaborate lengths to continue their childhood game.

And now, as THR reports, Jon Hamm joins a crazy-talented cast that includes Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Hannibal Buress, Annabelle Wallis and Rashida Jones. Hamm’s character apparently wants to get out of the game but finds himself dragged back in, like Al Pacino’s character in The Godfather III. Given the cast, does this movie have an outside chance of surpassing Coppola’s groundbreaking film?

No. No, it does not.

Tag starts shooting in Atlanta later this month, and is set for a June 29, 2018, release.
