Working in the office just got a whole lot deadlier in the first trailer for The Belko Experiment. In the new film from Greg McLean and James Gunn, normal office workers in Bogota, Colombia are forced to participate in a sick, kill-or-be-killed game that will take its fair share of lives.
The trailer gives us a sense of the unrelenting bloodiness of the film, and also looks like a meditation on the violence humanity is capable of. Starring John Gallagher Jr. (The Newsroom), Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) and John C. McGinley (Scrubs), The Belko Experiment tells the story of office workers who are told to kill three of their co-workers in order to escape from their office building. If they don’t comply, six workers will be killed instead.
The Belko Experiment premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. James Gunn wrote the film’s screenplay, and McLean, who also directed the 2005 film Wolf Creek, directed the film. The trailer’s final, chilling line is uttered by Adria Arjona (True Detective). “At the end of the day, people are out for themselves,” she promises.
The Belko Experiment is set to hit theaters on March 17, 2017. Check out the film’s first trailer above.
