Sony is bringing a ‘90s sci-fi horror back to life in the first trailer for the new reboot of Flatliners.
The film stars Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemons as medical students trying to answer their questions about the afterlife by, you know, killing each other. As could only be expected, the students feel the repercussions of their dangerous experiments in what looks to be a chilling thriller.
The original film starred Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon and Kiefer Sutherland. Sutherland is set to appear in the remake as an older version of his original character.
Niels Arden Oplev, director of the Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, is helming the reboot with a screenplay from Source Code writer Ben Ripley.
Flatliners premieres on Sept. 29. Watch the trailer above.
