The theatrical release of Disney’s followup to Tim Burton’s trippy Alice in Wonderland is almost here and the studio has released another trailer to get us ready to go down the rabbit hole one more time.
In this new look at Alice Through the Looking Glass we learn just how Alice lands herself back in Wonderland, and it also introduces us to a new slate of mad characters. After being locked up in a hospital after being diagnosed by a menacing doctor as suffering from a “textbook case of female hysteria,” Alice finds herself wondering into a mirror back to the land of the beautifully odd. There she learns that her dear friend the Mad Hatter is in need of her help, and sets out to turn the topsy-turvy world right side up.
Alice Through the Looking Glass, loosely based on the 1871 Lewis Caroll novel of a similar name, reunites our leading lady with the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter), the White Queen (Anne Hathaway), and Absolem the Caterpillar, voiced by the late Alan Rickman. We also see the addition of Sacha Baron Cohen’s sinister Time.
Alice Through the Looking Glass is set for release on May 27.
