The Roles of a Lifetime: Paul Giamatti

Paul Giamatti makes the most of his bulging eyes and elastic face in raucous comedies like Big Fat Liar and Big Momma’s House, but it’s in more nuanced roles that the Yale-educated actor really shines. In 2003, he won raves for his portrayal of comic book author Harvey Pekar in the unorthodox biopic American Splendor, and a year later he earned mainstream fame starring in the wildly popular rom-com Sideways, followed by a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his role in the boxing drama Cinderella Man. Giamatti, who currently stars in the Showtime series Billions, makes his next film appearance in Ridley Scott’s new sci-fi thriller Morgan, opening September 2.
