Vivian Kubrick Says Her Father Did Not Help Fabricate Moon Landing

Vivian Kubrick took to Twitter last night to denounce long-standing conspiracy theories about her father, late director Stanley Kubrick, helping to fabricate footage of the U.S. moon landing.

In December, YourNewsWire.com published a supposed video interview with Stanley Kubrick by T. Patrick Murray, a documentary director, in which Kubrick admitted to directing the moon landing of 1969 on a film set. The interview was allegedly done in 1999, the year of Kubrick’s fatal heart attack, and Murray claimed that Kubrick agreed to it only on the condition that it could not be published until 15 years after his death. The video has since been removed from the internet and YourNewsWire.com has added a note to the article saying that it is possible the interview is a hoax. Murray has not commented on the authenticity of the interview, but it is widely thought that the man being interviewed is not Kubrick, but an actor named “Tom.”

Vivian Kubrick, a director herself, posted a statement to Twitter with the preface that many people have asked her about her father’s involvement with the footage of the moon landing. The statement (included below), which is a few paragraphs long, points to her father’s controversial work that “put his life at risk” as evidence that he would be “the very last person EVER to assist the US Government in such a terrible betrayal of its people.” She says that though she believes many conspiracies have happened in our nation’s history, and some are still happening, her father was “one of the greatest defenders of mankind,” and the speculation of his involvement with the government to “‘fake the moon landings’ – is manifestly A GROTESQUE LIE.”

She had been tweeting earlier about the Juno spacecraft orbiting Jupiter and said “this feels like the right time to respond” with her conspiracy theory-slamming statement. Read Vivian Kubrick’s full message below.
