The creative collective behind the 7-Inches for Planned Parenthood series has announced a new split single, available for purchase and streaming on Dec. 14. Side A is “All I Want,” written by Matt Berninger and composer Stephan Altman, and featuring Julien Baker, while Side B features poet and music writer Hanif Abdurraqib reading his poem “Defiance, Ohio is the Name Of A Band.”

7-Inches for Planned Parenthood is “a curated series of 7-inch vinyl records” that feature musicians, artists, poets and others working together to both raise funds for and awareness of “the essential health care Planned Parenthood provides to patients every day, all across the country,” per a press release. Or, as Berninger puts it in a statement, it’s “essentially an independently run record label devoted entirely to protecting sexual and reproductive rights,” adding that he was “very excited to launch Volume 2.”

The project was first started in 2017, and Volume 1 featured new or never released tracks from Foo Fighters, Sharon Van Etten and Sleater-Kinney, as well as exclusive performances from comedians Jenny Slate, Zach Galifianakis and Tig Notaro, spoken word by Dr. Willie Parker and Margaret Atwood, collaborations from St. Vincent and John Legend, and more.

Find more information here and watch a live performance of “All I Want” from the boygenius show at The Wiltern in L.A. last Friday. You’ll find Baker’s 2016 Paste Studio session further down.
