Alicia Witt has enjoyed an illustrious career by almost any standard. Having scored acting roles from an early age that included work with David Lynch and a role on Friday Night Lights, many artists would be content to stick to the one realm of Hollywood—but not Witt. With her debut studio album Revisionary History, released in May via Compass Records, Witt reveals her distinctive voice with a piano pop sound so developed and nuanced that it will come as no surprise to new listeners that the record was produced by Ben Folds. Now, the singer-songwriter has released a video for standout single “Consolation Prize.” In the video, Witt variates between scenes surrounded by photographs and performing the song on the piano.
