Check Out Andrew Bird’s Bright New Single “Roma Fade”

Music News Andrew Bird

Andrew Bird can play many different instruments, but his most underrated ability might be his whistling. His latest single, “Roma Fade,” begins with an infectious whistled melody before launching into bright acoustic guitar with an ambience that is at once joyful and haunting. The song is the latest to portend the arrival of his forthcoming album, Are You Serious, out Apr. 1 on Loma Vista.

Bird describes “Roma Fade” thus:

”’Roma Fade’ is about the wordless dialogue between the watcher and the watched and the fine line between romance and creepiness. In this song, “she” is a fortress of solitude, yet the observer can still affect her with his gaze. Whether the attention is welcome or not, something between them has changed. Notice how the song shifts from third person to first person near the end and it’s actually the observer who has transformed.”

The Illinois native embarks on a tour in support of Are You Serious at the end of March. Check out the full itinerary below.
