Following Angel Olsen’s June announcement about her forthcoming album My Woman, the indie-folk artist has released a new video accompanying a new song, “Sister.” The over-eight-minute song has plenty of sun-soaked, reverb-laden guitar, delicately paced and very nicely contrasted with fuzzy, attacking guitar lines a la Neil Young.
The video is full of patient, panning shots and evocative imagery as Olsen strolls on a contemplative walkabout of the suburbs. It very accurately reflects the contrasts that the song itself communicates. It was directed by Olsen with freelance filmmaker Conor Hagen.
The new single follows two other previously released singles/videos, “Shut Up Kiss Me” and “Intern.” The album is due out Sept. 2 via Jagjaguwar. Pre-order it here.
