One of the best parts of working at Paste Magazine is voting on our annual Best Albums list. All of the staff, music writers and interns are invited to submit ballots, and from there the music editors lead in determining which records make the cut for the final list. Sometimes we all easily agree on a record, other times we have a passionate argument about why an album should be eliminated from the running. It’s a long process, but it’s always a good time.
For 2019, out of more than 280 records suggested, we landed on 50 fantastic records by artists ranging from Big Thief, Brittany Howard and Carly Rae Jepsen to Jenny Lewis, Black Midi and Weyes Blood. Our list may not be perfect (because whose is, really?), but we’re proud of it.
To celebrate, we’re giving away five bundles of records from our 2019 Best Albums list. The grand prize bundle is a curated pack of 10 records off our list based on the winner’s music taste. Four more winners will be selected for packs of five records, also curated to each winner’s music taste. All winners will also receive a Paste T-shirt!
