SXSW Throwback: Watch Built to Spill’s Full Set From 2012

WIth SXSW drawing closer and closer, Paste is sharing some of our favorite SXSW footage from over the years. Today’s installment is a performance from everyone’s favorite Boise, Idaho indie-rockers Built to Spill. The band filmed a set for Paste back in 2012, which you can watch in full below.

Led by Doug Martsch, the band performed five tracks—”Traces,” “Distopian Dream Girl,” “Time Trap,” “Three Years Ago Today” and “Broken Chairs.” Performing at Stage on Sixth in association with Paste and Sennheiser, Built to Spill put on a boisterous, riff-filled set of mostly classic material. “Time Trap” and “Broken Chairs” are taken from their classic fourth LP Keep It Like a Secret, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in February. This set shows one of the finest bands of the American indie-rock canon delivering spunky hooks and tender melodies—and having a hell of a good time doing it.
