Calvin Johnson Releasing Album Produced By The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney

Indie-rock power-hitter Calvin Johnson has a new album coming out this fall, and it’s produced by Patrick Carney, the drummer for The Black Keys. A Wonderful Beast is the most recent offering from the K Records founder since 2016’s This Party Is Just Getting Started, which was released under his Selector Dub Narcotic moniker.

A Wonderful Beast is out on Oct. 13, but you can listen to the lead track “Kiss Me Sweetly,” today. It features backing vocals from Carney’s fiancé Michelle Branch. The pair released a song together last year for BoJack Horseman. Carney also wrote the opening credits for the show whose reruns will now be airing Comedy Central.
