Cloud Nothings Share Fierce New Single “Leave Him Now”

Cloud Nothings have shared “Leave Him Now,” the second single from their forthcoming album Last Building Burning, out Oct. 19 through Carpark/Wichita Records.

The song follows August’s shoegaze-y “The Echo Of The World” with a renewed sense of ferocity and force—it’s an instant mosh pit singalong classic. The chorus is a command from singer Dylan Baldi: “Leave him now,” he shouts over compressed, crunched-out guitars and terse drum hits. What starts out as a clear-eyed directive becomes borderline sobbing near the end of the song. As gang vocals back up Baldi’s demands to leave and his own voice becomes a garbled mess, it becomes clear that this is a plea of desperation more than anything else.
