Eels Release Upbeat New Track, “Today Is The Day”

California indie rockers Eels have released a brand new track, “Today Is The Day,” from their forthcoming album The Deconstruction, out on April 6 via E Works/PIAS.

The Deconstruction is the band’s 12th studio album and their first since 2014’s The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett.

“Today Is The Day” follows their previously released title track and it’s an upbeat, happy-go-lucky indie-rock/power-pop tune with Eels frontman Mark Oliver Everett proclaiming, “I just wanted to sing my song about change.”

When asked about the new track, Everett, aka E, commented, “Today is the day I finally eat that fucking donut.”

Eels will also embark on a short North American tour in May and June, in support of The Deconstruction.
