Is Eminem Teasing His New Album?

On the 15th anniversary of Eminem’s movie 8 Mile, Slim Shady has taken to social media to stir the pot about his potential new album, Revival.

The image above was posted to Eminem’s official Facebook and Instagram pages, featuring what looks like a written prescription for a “medicine” called “Revival,” with “Walk on Water” listed in the notes section—the album’s lead single, perhaps?—and the Latin phrase “canticum remedium” up top, which roughly translates to “song remedy.” At the bottom of the prescription, in fine print, is a link to a very well-designed website that resembles any site you might visit for more information about a medication you saw in an advertisement. On Revival’s website, however, you are greeted with a slogan too clever for any real drug manufacturers to think of.

It’s been quite a while since the Rap God released an official album, his most recent being 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Fans are dying to know the fate of this Revival business. Talk is cheap, so we will see where it goes from here, although, as Dr. Dre taught us when he released Compton, it’s not uncommon for borderline-retired artists to release one last crusher to satisfy the fans. At this point, all we can do is sit back with a big plate of mom’s spaghetti and hope Mr. Mathers isn’t just yanking our chains.
