America’s favorite rockers are back. Foo Fighters are retirees in the video for “Run,” a dynamic new single that is sure to appeal to the hardcore Foo fans—and might earn them some new ones.
The band was feared to be going their separate ways, but if “Run” is any indication of their status as a group, they seem to be stronger than ever. The track merges two signature Foo styles: sweet, poetic lyricism and loud, impassioned delivery. The video, which gives us a taste of Dave Grohl’s directorial chops, features a jam session in a retirement home, complete with all of the bells and whistles of a typical rock show. The single marks a new era in the Foo Fighters’ history and is most likely the first taste of a forthcoming album.
